GRAND RAPIDS, MI– Just after a two-yr hiatus, one of Grand Rapids biggest festivals has returned.
Pageant of the Arts kicked off Friday for the first of 3 times for the Competition of the Arts held in downtown.
The competition is recognised for drawing big crowds, and sunny skies welcomed website visitors Friday afternoon.

Men and women took to the streets for the 53rd Competition of the Arts. The pageant was canceled in 2020 and 2021 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
The pageant functions songs, dance, poetry, opera, theatre and additional. More than 200 performers will fill the four levels in downtown Grand Rapids:
- Calder Phase, on Calder Plaza in front of Metropolis Hall on Ottawa Avenue.
- Lyon Road Stage, on Lyon amongst Ottawa and Ionia (following to the Kent County Courthouse).
- Fountain Road Phase, at the intersection of Fountain and Ionia.
