Dacia Duster leads, VW Taigo hits world best #4 in market up 7.3% – Best Selling Cars Blog

[ad_1]

The VW Taigo follows the same pass as the T-Cross in Croatia.

4,470 new cars hit Croatian roads in April, a 7.3% year-on-year improvement which goes against the overall European trend. The year-to-date tally now stands at 14,233 units, down just -3.1% over the same period in 2021. Kia (+126%) spectacularly holds onto the brands pole position, 7 sales above Volkswagen (-14.1%) which now holds the YTD top spot. Opel (-0.8%) edges down to close the podium while below, Dacia (+65.3%), Toyota (+104.7%) and Hyundai (+64%) all post fantastic gains to round out the Top 6. Skoda (-57.8%) suffers from stock shortages at #7 and abandons the YTD top spot. Audi (+54.5%) also impresses in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Suzuki (-28.8%) and Renault (-11.9%) underperform. Cupra (+338.5%), Jeep (+262.5%), Ford (+148.1%), Fiat (+142.9%) and Volvo (+92%) stand out further down.

Model-wise, the Dacia Duster (+54.7%) is the best-seller for the month ahead of the Opel Mokka (+821%) repeating at #2. The Kia Stonic (+119.4%) is up three spots on March to #3 while the new VW Taigo is back up from outside the March Top 20 directly to a world-best #4. The VW T-Roc (-1.5%) closes out the Top 5 just as the Kia Ceed (+150.9%), Hyundai Tucson (+101.8%) and Dacia Sandero (+34.4%) all post fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Reversely the Opel Corsa (-63.4%), leader a year ago, and the VW T-Cross (-35.7%), surely cannibalised by the Taigo, show paltry results. Further down, the Ford Ecosport (+760%), Mazda CX-30 (+116.2%) and Toyota Yaris (+50%) stand out. The Suzuki Vitara (#13), Audi Q3 (#15), Suzuki S-Cross (#19) and Opel Crossland (#20) also point their bonnet inside the Top 20. Still leader YTD, the Skoda Octavia (-84.6%) steps out of the Top 20.

Previous month: Croatia March 2022: Hyundai Tucson, Opel Mokka, Kia Xceed lead, sales off -6.8%

One year ago: Croatia April 2021: Opel Corsa leads market down -51.7% on two years ago
