Supermom In Training: 9 years went by too quickly | Parenting 101

I recall when I was pregnant everyone would tell me, “Soak it all in! It goes by so rapidly.” But when my son was 1, 2, and even 3, I felt, at that time, that people had been the LONGEST several years of my daily life. I imagined I’d be cutting up food into teeny tiny parts and indicating “be watchful” for the relaxation of my lifetime!

But when he started faculty entire-time at 4 a long time aged, that’s when everyday living picked up pace… and quick! Times begun blending collectively, seasons flew by, and we had been singing “Joyful Birthday” what felt like just about every couple months.

Currently, my son turns 9. 9! Last calendar year of one digits. I practically do not know how I went from possessing a bean to possessing a “Cam,” how I went from “mommy” to “mother,” how diapers became tiny teeny briefs that then became boxers, how we went from tear-cost-free child clean to body wash for men… it is all flying by.

I will admit it: I miss the minor-particular person stage the place I was awesome and pleasurable (and not the embarrassment I am now!). I overlook the tiny items of food stuff and currently being a helicopter mother at the park and calming huge fears and kissing small boo-boos. 

But 9 is great also. We have an precise particular person now. Life is unquestionably much easier and significantly less messy. We have somebody awesome to hold out with. He is tremendous funny and mature, and seriously understands points like sarcasm (which can be a superior or a undesirable point!).

And most of all: I like him additional and additional with each and every passing calendar year.
